Steatohepatitis with periportal fibrosis
網頁Hepatic fibrosis is defined as excessive deposition of collagen (type I and 1V) in the hepatic parenchyma. It is distinct from parenchymal collapse which results in approximation (collapse) of pre-existing reticulin network (collagen type III) when the intervening hepatocytes are lost in a disease process. 網頁Although it may be thought of as a benign condition, it may be associated with the development of necroinflammation and fibrosis--so-called steatohepatitis. The classic example of this is alcoholic hepatitis, but there is increasing awareness of steatohepatitis occurring in nonalcoholics: NASH.
