WebSimilar results may be achieved with the Yet Another Mechlab and Yet Another Weapon mods. MercTech is a total conversion that makes things far more granular. Sort of makes it more akin to the novels, and adds several layer of management further (ammo, equipment, component repairs). Very different experiences, I recommend starting with YAML/YAW.
