Function to find maximum element in vector
WebFeb 28, 2016 · 8 I have been using std::max_element (vec), but from what I can tell, it returns the smallest index if two "greatest" indices are equal. Example: vector v = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 3, 3, 2, 5}; std::max_element (v) would reference v [4], but for the purposes of my project I need it to reference v [8] instead. What would be the best way to do this? c++ WebJul 8, 2024 · Think of calculating the maximum number in an array as the number which will be maximum of the first element and the maximum of the remaining elements of the …

You don't need a comparator functor in this instance. Your std::vector 's value_type is std::string, but you're trying to pass an int. Either change the value_type to int, or use a string conversion function, i.e. C++11's std::to_string.
WebFeb 21, 2024 · The following function uses Function.prototype.apply () to get the maximum of an array. getMaxOfArray ( [1, 2, 3]) is equivalent to Math.max (1, 2, 3), but you can use getMaxOfArray () on programmatically constructed arrays. This should only be used for arrays with relatively few elements. WebJul 22, 2015 · The simplest method would be to first have a function to determine the max/min elements of one vector, say a function called: double getMaxInVector(const vector& someVec){} Passing by reference (for reading purposes only) in this case will be a lot more time and space efficient (you don't want your function copying an …

WebSep 10, 2024 · The max () is a built-in R function that takes the R object as an input and returns the maximum value out of it. For example, if you have a vector vec <- c (21, 19, 11, 2, 18, 3), then max (vec) will return 21. Syntax max (input, na.rm = FALSE) Parameters input: It is a Vector or a data frame.
WebThe maximum of the first element is simply the first element in the list. Recursively call Max on the rest (all but first element) to find the maximum of those elements.
