I meant for you to monitor the power on the red/green stripe wire at the ignition switch to see if power shuts off on it when the key is released from the start position. If it loses power when the key is released, the ignition switch is bad. If it doesn't, then you have a wiring issue that is very odd for sure. WebMay 3, 2009 · Easy check for that is to run a quick jumper wire from the battery positive to the coil positive and try again. If it works then, you need to find out why you're not getting power to the coil with the key in the "ON" position. Oh, and don't forget that you can't turn it off with the key that way.
