WebJun 25, 2010 · Opt for the M4 style feed ramps, they increase the over all reliability of the rifle and that is always a good thing!!! It has been opined that they do decrease accuracy a miniscule amount. But who cares, reliability>Accuracy every time; if the gun won't reliably cycle, who cares how accurate it "could" be? If it matters, the barrel is a 16" AR-Stoner and the gas port seems to be on the small end of good. I am very familiar with the purpose of M4 feedramps in a 5.56 caliber M4, and the mixed views on their importance there.

WebI personally think the M4 ramps in the Grendel are helpful, because you have a totally different cartridge geometry that is fatter, and hands off from the feed lips up the ramps differently, so the lowered and enlarged M4 feed ramps seem to help with feeding. WebNov 25, 2014 · If you have feeding issues, Dremel out the middle of the M4 feed ramp, and it’s likely any feeding issues you are having will disappear. If your bolt is not locking back on the last round, you probably need a larger gas port. In my case I needed to enlarge mine to 1/8″, but you might be able to get away with a smaller port, depending on your build.
